If you’ve been yearning for a simpler time, get ready to relive the decade that brought you the joys of leg warmers, lovingly curated mix-tapes, big hair and epic power ballads. BCC and Event Cinemas are bringing the best of the 80’s back to the big screen across weekends in August and September for some feel-good cinematic nostalgia.
Kicking off the series, the quintessential 80’s writer, director John Hughes takes us on a journey through the thrills and agonies of the adolescent experience with Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on August 1st and 2nd, The Breakfast Club on August 8th and 9th, and Pretty in Pink on August 15th and 16th.
Choose to go on a totally bodacious ride with Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure on August 22nd& 23rd, or have the time of your life with Baby and Johnny in Dirty Dancing on August 29th and 30th.
Join legendary comedians John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd on a mission from God in The Blues Brothers on September 5th and 6th and strap on your Walkman and dance with Kevin Bacon in Footloose on September 12th and 13th.
Finishing up the trip back in time to the 80’s are two classic must-see family films. The inconceivably delightful postmodern fairytale: The Princess Bride on September 19th and 20th, and Spielberg’s visionary E.T. The Extra Terrestrial on the September 26th and 27th.
For those wanting to pump up the volume on their 80s experience, BCC and Event Cinemas have released a special private cinema hire offer for a limited time.
